House Fire
At 1:02 Am, Pleasantville Fire Department received an alarm for a reported structure fire in the 100 block of Bedford Road. Within minutes of the initial call, our units were on location. Companies were met with heavy fire and clutter conditions. Units utilized multiple hand lines and master streams to darken down the fire.
Members from Chappaqua Fire Department, Thornwood Fire Department, Briarcliff Manor Fire Department, Valhalla Fire Department Fast and Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corps were on the initial alarm.
40 minutes into the operation, a Second Alarm assignment was requested by 2371 (Chief Martineau). This brought standby units from Millwood Fire and Pocantico Hills Fire Department to the scene. An additional Fast Team was assigned from the Ossining Fire Department. Also on scene was the American Red Cross, who assisted the homeowner.
Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department covered the Pleasantville Fire District as units operated.
Units were on scene for approximately 3 hours till fire operations concluded.
We’d like to thank all the mutual aid companies for assisting us at the fire scene and for covering our district. Thanks to R. McCarthy for the photos.
