House Fire
At 4:51 PM, Pleasantville FD was requested to respond for an automatic residential alarm on Sloehidden Road.
When arriving on scene, Car 2371 (Chief of Department Martineau) encountered smoke within the residence. Discovering fire within the walls, Chief Martineau requested a 10-75 (Code for a Working Fire).
This brought additional resources and firefighters from Thornwood Fire Department , The Chappaqua Fire Department , Briarcliff Manor Fire Department and Valhalla Fire Department. Due to this area having limited hydrants and water supply, tankers from Bedford Hills Fire Department , Pocantico Hills Fire Department , Armonk Fire Department and Millwood Fire were assigned also.
Hawthorne Fire Department and Ossining Fire Department covered Pleasantville’s fire district while members operated on scene.
Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Mount Pleasant Medic provided medical coverage for units on scene.
Units were on scene and in service under roughly 2 hours.
Thanks to Chief McCarthy for the photo.
