
Busy Day / Working Fire
Yesterday was a busy day for your Pleasantville Fire Department. Your local volunteers answered and responded to the following alarms.
– 05:06 AM – Alarm Activation at a Commercial Occupancy.
– 07:38 AM – Alarm Activation at a School.
– 02:49 PM – Relocation Request for Tower Ladder 5 to cover Mt. Kisco FD’s District, as they operated at a Structure Fire.
– 05:06 PM – Alarm Activation at a Residence.
– 05:48 PM – Call for Fire on the deck of a Residence. Car 2371 (Chief of Department Martineau) arrived within 3 minutes of the initial call. The call was determined to have active fire within the basement of the residence and the siding of the house. A 10-75 (Working Fire Assignment) was quickly transmitted. This brought additional resources from Thornwood Fire Department, The Chappaqua Fire Department, Valhalla Fire Department, Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corps and WCDES Battalion 11. The fire was quickly “knocked down” with search and rescues coming up complete and negative. Millwood Fire’s cascade was requested to refill SCBA bottles. Relocations were provided by Pocantico Hills Fire Department and Hawthorne Fire Department. The cause of the fire is being investigated by WCDES Cause & Origin Teams.
– 08:58 PM – MVA, Tractor Trailer Vs Bridge. Saw Mill River Parkway N/B. Dual Response with Thornwood FD.
– 10:45 PM – Motor Vehicle Incident. Vehicle Smoking. Saw Mill River Parkway S/B. Dual Response with Thornwood FD.
PFD is always looking for new members. No experience is needed, all training is provided for FREE, and the time commitment is flexible and accommodating. Residents age 16+ are welcomed to join!
