September 2021 Rundown
During September, PFD volunteers responded to 59 emergencies, including:
- Fire (Outside Rubbish, Unauthorized Burns)
- Rescue (Motor Vehicle Accident, Elevator Rescue, Water Rescue)
- Hazardous Conditions (Gas Leaks, Electrical issues)
- Severe Weather
- Residential & Commercial Alarm Activations (Smoke & Carbon Monoxide)
Members participated in 2 training events including Live Fire scenarios at the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services.
PFD also provided fire safety and suppression for the Pleasantville High School Homecoming Bonfire and did standby for the Thornwood Fire Department.
During Tropical Storm Ida, members responded to 16 alarms. Following the storm, Tower Ladder 5 along with 7 firefighters, relocated to Mamaroneck to provide relief for the Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department after their village was hit hard by Ida.
Rotating membership squads are assembled each Monday at the firehouse to ensure all of our apparatus and equipment are in good working condition.
